On the morning of July 3, launching ceremony of“2023 Knowing and Acting in Guizhou”Silk Road Youth Exchange Program & the Intangible Cultural Heritage Study of Miao and Dong Culture was successfully held at KLU.This exchange program was sponsored by Guizhou Provincial Department of Education and organized by the Secretariat of the China- ASEAN Education Exchange Week. Chen Wenyi, Head of Office of the ASEAN Education Week Organizing Committee Secretariat participated in the online meeting, and leaders of People’s Government of Qiandongnan Prefecture as well as leaders of KLU attended the meeting. In addition, 20 international students from Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Nigeria participated in it.
At the meeting, President of KLU Zhao Shouying welcomed teachers and students, and introduced the history, development strategy and internationalization of KLU to the participants. He hoped that international students would travel around Qiandongnan Prefecture and gain a deeper understanding of the real China, colorful Guizhou and beautiful ethnic cultures, so as to play an active role in promoting the people-to-people communication among the peoples of different countries.
Chen Wenyi made an online speech, congratulating the organization of the event and expressing his gratitude to KLU for the full support. He wishedinternational studentscould avail themselves of Chinese cultural greatness firsthand and the charm of the “magnificent eastern Guizhou’s history”, to realize the unity of “knowing and acting”, and to serve as a conveyor of Chinese culture, a vigorous promoter of cultural exchanges and a messenger of friendly exchanges.
Wang Qian, a Nigerian international student from Jiangsu University, said in her speech that it was very inspiring to join in the cultural event, and she hoped that she could experience the profound charm of traditional Chinese culture and national culture to better perceive Guizhou and China.

After the launching ceremony, all the participants visited KLU’s school museum, and watched the Grand Song of Dong Ethnic Minority and Wood Drum Dance of Miao Minority.
