KLU: Take Advantage of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, Promote Educational Internationalization

The 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week was held in the permanent host site of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, Gui’an New District, Guizhou province, from Aug 28 to Sept 2.

On the afternoon of Aug 29, Zhou Jiangju, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of KLU, was invited to participate in the Forum for Presidents of Universities in China-ASEAN and“Belt and Road”Countries. It is reported that more than 200 guests from 17 countries and regions, 63 foreign university presidents attended the meeting to discuss educational cooperation and exchanges. After the meeting, Zhou Jiangju was interviewed byChina Education Onlinereporter.

It is reported that the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week would open with an opening ceremony and one main forum, and it will also feature 52 forums, five exhibitions, four negotiation meetings, five competitions, two training sessions, and four activity camps. These universities will hold exchanges and discussions, establish cooperation alliances, build cooperation platforms, and showcase cooperation achievements around key areas of international cutting-edge science and technology, cultivation of interdisciplinary innovative talent, intelligent manufacturing, and industry-education integration.

Universities such as the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Mahidol University in Thailand, Raman University in Malaysia were invited to the event. On the afternoon of the 30th, KLU sent representatives from the School of International Education to exchange business cards and negotiate with representatives from various universities.

From Aug 29 to 30, at the conference site of the Education Cooperation Week, 16 colleges and universities in Guizhou Province took part in the China-ASEAN and National Education Exhibition to show the achievements of themselves to the guests and representatives of ASEAN countries. KLU’s school history, campus culture, China-ASEAN Exchange Week activities, and Sino-foreign cooperative programs are carefully designed on the exhibition boards, which has received a warm response. In recent years, the main achievements of KLU’s Sino-foreign cooperation include the cooperative program with Arden University of Britain, Hoseo University of South Korea, cooperation with secondary schools of Nakhaon Pathom in Thailand, and there are still projects with European countries in progress.

The 2023 Education Exchange Week will continue to deepen China-ASEAN cooperation in the fields of digital education and vocational education, promote cooperation between Chinese and foreign high-level universities, launch the Viewing Guizhou through Bridges events to facilitate the development of the local tourism industry, promote cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign youth, and deepen strategic cooperation with the relevant institutions of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, etc. With regard to the aforementioned goals, exchanges will be carried out while efforts will be made for practical cooperation. Relying on the communication platform of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, KLU will be committed to serving the needs of education opening up and broadening the channels of international exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries.
