On June 30, KLU Vice President Zhou Jiangju attended the Founding Ceremony and the Talent Training Signing Ceremony of the North Alabama International College of Engineering and Technology of Guizhou University, as well as the Symposium on Cultivating Innovative and Top International Talents and Serving the Construction of Guizhou’s “Four New Initiatives” and “Four Orientations”.
The Ceremony was held in the Lecture Hall 107 of Xianzheng Building, West Campus of Guizhou University. Chen Jian, a provincial government leader, Li Xin, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Expert Services of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Zhang Yun, Education Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the United States, Shi Changdong, First Level Inspector of Guizhou Department of Human Resources and Social Security, Ao Hong, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Gui’an New Area, Jiang Hong, Executive Vice President of the Guizhou People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Wang Hui, Chairman of Guizhou Education Union, Zhou Baoying, President of the Guizhou Education Association for International Exchange, Li Ying, Vice Mayor of Guiyang Municipal People's Government, Yang Hong, Second Level Inspector of the Department of Science and Technology of Guizhou, Yao Jiong, Chief Engineer of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guizhou, Li Jianjun,Secretary of Guizhou University, and representatives from universities and enterprises in Guizhou attended the Ceremony.
Chen Jian, Li Jianjun, Zhang Yun (President Kenneth Kitts of the University of North Alabama), and Li Xin, delivered speeches online and offline. Wang Hui read out the approval document from the Ministry of Education. Chen Jian, Jiang Hong, Wang Hui, and Li Jianjun inaugurated the North Alabama International College of Engineering and Technology of Guizhou University. Vice President Zhou Shaoqi of Guizhou University signed talent training cooperation agreements with representatives from China Water Environment Group, Guizhou Kabu International Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and GoldenKeys High-Tech Materials Co.,Ltd.
The Symposium was held in the Smart Classroom 115 of Dezheng Building, West Campus of Guizhou University.
Zhou Jiangju, on behalf of KLU, delivered a speech. She first expressed heartfelt congratulations on the founding of the North Alabama International College of Engineering and Technology of Guizhou University, and then introduced to the guests the undergraduate education program in Computer Science and Technology jointly organized by KLU and Arden University approved this year. She hoped to learn the successful experience of Sino-foreign cooperative education projects and institution operationsfrom Guizhou University and other sister universities.
In March 2022, the undergraduate education program in Computer Science and Technology jointly organized by KLU and Arden University was approved by the Ministry of Education, and is expected to enroll the first undergraduate students in September 2022.
