“I am an honorable teacher, I solemnly swear: be loyal to the Party’s cause of education, implement the Party’s education policy, fulfill the sacred duties of teachers...” On the afternoon of September 8, both novice and experienced teachers of KLU took a solemn oath under the national flag at the Teachers’ Day Commendation Conference, aspiring to the spirit of craftsmanship to cultivate teacher ethics, refining teacher’s ability，and continue to follow a people-centered approach to educational development.
The Commendation Ceremony began with the performanceBeijing’s Good News Spreads to the Border, in which an elegant ethnic orchestra ensemble expressed their holiday greetings and blessings to teachers.
On behalf of the Party Committee of KLU, Song Jianbo, Secretary of the Party Committee, extended his greetings and heartfelt thanks to all the teaching staff who have been working hard in teaching, scientific research, management, and service, and who have poured their wisdom and efforts into the development of KLU.
The rise and fall of a nation hinges on education, and the three-foot podium is a matter of the future. Song Jianbo put forward a four-point request on how to better implement the expectations of the Party and the country for teachers and remain true to teachers’ original aspirations: first, teachers must be firm in ideals and beliefs; second, teachers must adhere to the principles of establishing morality; third, teachers must be dedicated to teaching and educating people; forth, teachers must be rooted in the motherland and dedicate to the great cause of rejuvenation. He hoped all teachers would concentrate on writing a new chapter of KLU’s high-quality development.
Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President Zhao Shouying read out the decision of teachers’ recognition of 2023 Teachers’ Day. The conference recognized 91 outstanding staff members and 2 outstanding groups, including students’ favourite young teachers, outstandingcounsellors, and outstanding teachers.
Teacher representative Lu Jing said in her speech that she would stick to the original intention of education, and cultivate more talents for the school; outstanding teacher Hu Xiuhong shared her feelings of growth since she started teaching; outstanding educator Long Yingman talked about the mission and responsibility of being a teacher and expressed her love and pursuit of education.
Song Jianbo and Zhao Shouying awarded honorary certificates to thirty years of teaching experience recipients and honorable retirees respectively. This year, 17 faculty members were awarded the“Thirty Years of Education”, and they have been working hard in the frontline of teaching, research, management and service for 30 years, contributing to the development of KLU.
Following the commendation ceremony, a series of wonderful performance expressed the holiday salute to teachers in various art forms, praising teachers’ noble virtues of cultivation and selfless dedication.
