Ms. Zhang Xin participated in the online "I-Role 2021 International Language Education Symposium" hosted by UITM (the University of Technology Mara in Malaysia). The theme of the meeting was about "The Impact of New Technology on Language Education Policy",discussing the impact on the national language strategy and policy research, the micro-level language education theory and practice. The seminar was co-sponsored by School of Foreign Languages of Southeast University, China Foreign Languages Strategy Research Center of Shanghai International Studies University, and International Language Education Policy Research Association of University of Wisconsin .
Prof. Stefanie Shamila Pillai from University of Malaya, Prof. Sonchai Mungthaisong from Chiang Rai Rajabhat University in Thailand, Professor Widhiyanto from Semarang State University in Indonesia, and Professor Alison Rotha Moore from the University of Wollongong in Australia were the first to deliver the speech.
More than one hundred participants from all over the world made group reports and exchanges on topics such as "Language Acquisition and Bilingual Education", "Language Policy and Language Inheritance". Ms.Zhang gave a report entitled Improving EFL Pronunciation and Self-concept among Chinese Non-English Major Learners: A proposal in the group discussion, and had an interactive exchange and in-depth discussion with experts and scholars on the related issues of pronunciation teaching.
