TheSchoolof Humanities, formerly known as the Department of Literature & History of Kaili Teachers’ College in the 1950s, was established on the basis of the Department of Chinese, as well as the history major in September, 2008.
To September, 2011, the faculty has 47 full-time teachers and 10 part-time teachers, including 6 professors, 16 associate professors，22 lecturers and 10 assistants, of whom 3 with PhDs, 3 working for their PhDs, 31 with master’s degrees, 3 working for their master’s degrees, 2 Provincial experts, 1 provincial "Outstanding Teachers", 1 "National Model Teacher" and 4 " Middle and Young Aged Academic Elites ".
Now theschoolconsists of two undergraduate programs---Chinese Major (including Chinese Linguistics and Literature, Chinese Language and Literature Secretarial Direction, and the Direction of Chinese National Culture), two undergraduate majors of History, and one junior college major of Chinese Education. It has 8 teaching and research sections, including linguistics, literature, national science, world history, Chinese history, literary theory, secretarial, Chinese writing, etc.
In recent years, teachers in ourschoolhave chaired 6 research projects of the National Social Science Fund, 10 research projects of provincial or prefectural planning fund and 20 research projects of university research fund. The faculty has published 20 monographs and textbooks, 4 literary works, and more than 500 papers, including more than 50 core papers.
